Krs Acson: My name is Kris. I am currently a graduate student and a full-time middle school teacher. I am completing my Master of Education in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership at the University of Regina, and I am in my final semester, with plans to graduate this June. Through this program, my goal is to deepen my understanding of leadership and strengthen the skills needed to navigate the increasingly complex roles educators take on in today’s academic environments. Alongside my studies, I recently began working as a full-time middle school teacher in Omaha, Nebraska. Balancing full-time teaching while completing graduate studies certainly comes with its challenges, but it has also created valuable opportunities for growth. Being able to immediately apply what I am learning in my program to my classroom and school community has made the experience especially meaningful. Prior to my current role, I spent nine years working in Macao and two years in Hong Kong in various educational capacities. Those experiences greatly shaped my perspective on teaching and learning.
